How we can help your student during the process:

College is a big investment and it is important that proper planning and choices are made in order to make a wise decision. Many students decide to switch majors or transfer to other colleges because they haven't done their homework when it comes to their college options before the initial college application! We help students make the right college match - the first time!  Our expertise helps students find their best match to avoid the costs of transferring to another college or taking longer than necessary to graduate.  

Individual Assessment:

Through questionnaires and the interview process, we can help create an outline of what they are looking for in a college.  It's imperative that your student. Input from the student and parents is critical for creating a realistic list for your student.  

Evaluation of Student Records:

We review the student's GPA as well all standardized testing to date and recommend why they should take future tests and assist with course selection, and give advice about extracurricular activities. We need an unofficial copy or scan of a prospective student's academic transcript.  

Developing a College List:

We visit colleges each year throughout the United States so that we have first-hand knowledge about colleges that represent the best fit for your student as well as which meet the criteria he or she has indicated are important. If we have not personally visited a college recently, we have an extensive network of colleagues to whom we can turn for information. The final list represents extensive research done on behalf of your student.

Managing the Timeline: 

We provide you with deadlines that we consider carefully with an eye to having the student applications completed in a less stressful and timely manner.  In addition, structure is put to the process for the family as we guide you to its successful completion.

Application Review:

We will review student applications and provide advice on proper completion of them. We will also help the student decide who to ask for recommendations, how to prepare for an interview if required, what to include on the resume or brag sheet and what constitutes a good college essay. 

College Selection:

We will help you decide among the choices you have once the decisions are in. Our advice will take into account student match as well as financial goals of the family.

Financial Aid/Scholarship Advice:

We will provide you with a list of financial aid resources and discuss, in broad terms, your options for need-based and merit aid.

Junior Year - Silver Plan - $995 in-person or Skype virtual advising  

  • Initial 90 minute student interview with Academic & Extracurricular review, SAT/ACT/SAT II testing requirements, deadlines and testing action plan, plus 3 additional student advising meetings.
  • Personality and skills assessment test and results, including feedback from student and parent questionnaires to assist with the college match process.
  • Preliminary assistance in developing college list with input from student
  • Individualized powerpoint presentation with Preliminary Student College Action Plan.
  • College Planner Binder to keep student organized throughout process.

  • Preliminary assistance in developing college list with input from student, developing a well rounded list of 15-20 possible colleges by fall of Senior year. 
  • Essay brainstorming and review, as needed

  • Individualized powerpoint presentation with Preliminary Student College Action Plan.
  • College Planner Binder to keep student organized throughout process.
